Meet the Team

Miss Ford (AKA Mrs Rainbow)

Trained Teaching Assistant, current role - school ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant)

She also works over the lunch period as a Meal Time Assistant.

Miss Ford joined the school in March 2016, originally employed to run a 'Quiet Room' facility for the children at lunchtimes, using arts & crafts as a platform.

Her journey continued on to be classroom based, providing 1:1 support, but also tasked with general TA duties. This has been predominantly in KS2, but Miss Ford has also helped out as required in the Nursery/Early Years Unit.

Now Miss Ford concentrates mainly on supporting children across the whole school & children with SEN to explore, express, understand & manage their emotions.

In her spare time Miss Ford is a mother who enjoys visiting Dorset & North Devon in the holidays to spend time with family/friends. Here in Plymouth she likes to be by the Ocean or out in her garden in the warmer months. Taking trips to the Theatre/Museum, listening to music & watching a good film! (Top of her list is ' The Last of The Mohicans', amazing cinematography!)

Miss Ford enjoys books about 'real life' experiences, with a touch of humour. (Her favourite book ever is 'My Family & Other Animals' by Gerald Durrell.) This book inspired her to save up & travel!
